Falana, 25 others appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN

Huhuonline.com can disclose that Human Right Activist Femi Falana and two academics were among the 25 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria SAN announced yesterday by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee.

The two academics are Professor Yemi Akinseye-George and Professor Dakas Clement James Dakas.

Other appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria are Mrs. Joy Okungbowa Adesina, Chief (Mrs) Connie -Jean Aremu, Mahmud Abubakar Magaji, Ogwu James Onoja, Garuba Usman Tetengi, Henry Oghogho Ogbodu, Selekeowei Larry, Abenny O. Mohammed.

The rest are Charles Nwanne Obishai,Luke Chukwudi Illogu, Francis Chuka Agbu, Paul C. Ananaba,Akinlaja Dayo Moses,Ahmed Raji, Adekunle Theophilus Oyesanya, Rotimi Oluseyi Oguneso, Oluseye Samuel Opasanya, Aduroja Claudius Olumuyiwa, Aliyu Umar, Illo Katune Sanusi, Rotimi Jacobs and Ndukwe A. Nnnawuchi.

The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee said in statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary LPPC

Sunday Olorundahunsi that the appointment was in accordance with the provisions of the Legal Practitioners' Act 2004.

A swearing-in date of the new appointees will be announced later.

Meanwhile the Supreme Court will hold a valedictory court session today in honour of outgoing chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdapher The court will Proceed on long vacation on Monday July 16th and resume in September.
