As everyone knows that the Somali Journalists are in very dangerous situation, sometimes they meet killing, torture, detention and regular death threatens, some of them were forced to leave their country after they received threaten messages from their enemies.

Last year, around six journalists were killed in Somalia by unknkown gunmen after being attacked in various towns of Somalia while they left from their stations including Farhan James Abdulle,Daljir Radio Reporter at Galka'ayo town in central Somalia, and Hassan Osman Fantastic, Radio Shabelle director, based in Mogadishu and recently wounded radio Bar-kulan reporter in Mogadishu, Mohamed Shariif.

Many others were also detained and remain in the prison more than several weeks without trial in different areas of Somalia. At my town of Las-anod in the north of Somalia which is now under the control of what so-called Somaliland is among those areas where i have been in the prison for one week without trial in Febuary 2012.

Apart from the slamic extremists and clan malias hunting the journalists,Local administrations in Somalia are also a part of the groups who often target the journalists with detention and torture.

Being a refugee makes you voiceless
Tens of somali journalists fled from their home land and went to neighbour countries, but they have not received any welfare and refugee status from United Nations High Commisioner For Refugees. They are in a very sad situation and no jobs they have.

It is very difficult to count the journalists who were killed in Somalia since the outbreak of the civil war in Somalia in 1991 when the dictatorship of Siad Barre was overthrow from the power by armed groups.

Internaional community must deeply focus on Somali crises

The Somali people can't predict how the situation will be,but they are looking at the attempts of the international community.Current situation of Somalia will be changed and one day a fear will not come near to somali people.

In conclusion, i would like to send my condonlences to my Coleauges in journalism of Somalia and entire of the world and their families,do not halt your job by fearing the threatens from our enemies.
