Okpe Union to Orodje: Shun sycophants

Secretary General of Okpe Union Worldwide, Mr. Henry Ebireri Sunday advised the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom ,His Royal Majesty, General Felix Mujakperuo(rtd) and members of the Okpe ruling council to sit down and attend to development issues in the kingdom. He also appealed to them to embrace constructive suggestions and shun sycophants who are misleading them through the kind of advice they offer.

Ebireri, who spoke at the Okpe Union Headquarters in Lagos after a closed door meeting, said going by the report of the meeting held in Orerokpe on Saturday, June 2, 2012, there is a plot to destroy the leadership of Okpe Union Worldwide.

The community leader cautioned some members of the Udogun Okpe and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Okpe kingdom to desist from acts that could mar the growth of the union and the kingdom.

He warned that if the plot to eliminate some members in Lagos, truncate the union's forth coming election, suspend the union's constitution and move the headquarters of the union to Orerokpe were executed, the consequences would be disastrous for the kingdom and the union.

Ebireri, who noted that some politicians and chiefs are struggling for Okpe Union posts only for personal aggrandizement, called on the good people of Okpe kingdom to form a movement to save Okpe kingdom and the union.

Regretting that the kingdom has been under very unproductive and irresponsible leadership for so long , he urged people of goodwill to join the struggle for freedom and emancipation in the kingdom as this is the only way to assure ourselves of quality existence.
