Explosion Hits Primary School In Kano

KANO, May 16, (THEWILL) - There was an explosion followed by sporadic gunshots at the premises of Ja'en Primary School in Sharada Phase III of Kano metropolis on Wednesday night.

The explosion destroyed windshield of cars and parts of other vehicles parked in the premises.

Eyewitnesses confirmed to THEWILL that they heard the explosion and the gunshots that followed.

As at the time of filing this report, the area was completely deserted, as even roadside traders were said to have abandoned trading to run for their lives.

Deputy spokesman of the Kano State Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Magaji Musa Majiya, confirmed the explosion.

“Nobody was hurt; and the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) cordoned the area off,” he said. “Although no arrests have been made so far, the Command has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the explosion.”
