WHY: To consider the draft Protocol on Amendments to the Protocol on the Statute of the African Court of Justice and Human and Peoples' Rights; To consider the Draft Protocol to the Constitutive Act relating to the Pan African Parliament; To discuss the implementation of the Assembly Decisions on Universal Jurisdiction and the progress made in the discussions with the European Union and the negotiations at the level of the United Nations General Assembly; To consider the draft model national legislation on Universal Jurisdiction.

BACKGROUND: This meeting is part of a process of revision of the Protocol on the Statute of the African Court of Justice and Human and Peoples' Rights and the Protocol of the Constitutive Act relating to the Pan-African Parliament initiated during the 6th Meeting of Ministers of Justice and prosecutors in October-November 2011.

Journalists are invited to cover the opening and closing ceremonies of the meeting, on May 14 and 15 in the African Union plenary hall in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
