MOSOP: FRAUD-ALERT TO PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN PROVOKES GLOBAL REACTIONS

By MOSOP MEDIA

MOSOP has received various questions, comments and suggestions as part of feedbacks on an Alert notifying President Goodluck Jonathan of Massive Frauds by Ledum Mitee, former MOSOP leader.

One reaction came in the form of a question as to whether or not Nigerian NGOs consider Ledum Mitee-Ben Naanen fraudulent tendencies as a problem.

Others from outside Nigeria want to know if Ledum Mitee and Ben Naanen can be arrested d and put on trial in Britain or other donor-countries. Other's comments said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was delaying justice.

During the past days, various groups of indigenous peoples around the globe started to pick interest in the Alert to President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria and have expressed some strong views in reaction the Alert: (http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO1204/S00021/mosop-alerts-president-goodluck-jonathan-of-massive-frauds.htm).

Meanwhile, MOSOP secretariat has received reports suggesting that Ben Naanen of the University of Port Harcourt has withdrawn substantial amount of money from MOSOP Bank Account in Port Harcourt.

A petition signed by a number of Ogoni activists and addressed to MOSOP Secretariat in Bori, said Ben Naanen has secretly withdrawn money from one of the two MOSOP bank accounts.

The petition said that Naanen went to the bank and was able to secretly change the signatory to the account.

An online report has earlier alluded to the new fraud by Naanen: “The Coordinators accuse the University of Port Harcourt Professor of History, of mismanagement. Parts of the letter states: "how you manipulated yourself to change signatories of MOSOP account when no official hand over were done is another surprise to coordinators forum; and when withdrawals are made by you Professor Ben Naanen, no member of your committee will be informed” (http://ogoninews.com/ogoni/288-crack-in-mosop-as-kingdom-coordinators-express-disappointment-in-caretaker-committee-chairman.html).

In 2007, Naanen started a group called “Ogoni Contact Group” to undermine MOSOP, with himself as the chairman. Ogonis refused to embrace Naanen's group. Naanen had lost his appointed position in MOSOP during the leadership of Ken Saro-Wiwa.

In December of 2011, Ben Naanen formed another body that was called MOSOP Contact Group along with Ledum Mitee. MOSOP Contact Group (MCC) had provoked a swift reaction.

A clergyman contacted by Naanen had leaked the information on the formation MOSOP Contact Group to the Council of Ogoni Churches.

In December of 2011, the Ogoni Council of Churches resolved 2011 to have nothing to with MOSOP Contact Group. Then, MOSOP Contact Group was replaced with MOSOP Provisional Council (MPC).

MPC has nothing to do with the Movement for Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) founded by Ken Saro-Wiwa.

Developments concerning the massive frauds in MOSOP will be brought to you as soon as they happen
