Former Nigerian No.1 goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, has queried Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the choice of Belgian, Mr Tom Saintfiet, as the new technical director of Nigerian football. Dodo Mayana as he fondly called in his playing days opined that Nigeria has capable and competent hands to do the job, instead of wasting the taxpayer's money on a foreigner.

Rufai, however, advised his compatriot, Stephen Keshi, to remain focused on his job, while stating that the technical director's job will not in any way conflict with his coaching job.

'There is nothing wrong in appointing a foreign technical director so long as the football house has studied his profile very well and confirmed he is the right man to do the job, otherwise, I would suggest that they should look inwards and get the right man, here in Nigeria.

We have somebody like the Modakeke High Chief, Adegboye Onigbinde, Chief Segun Odegbami, just to mention a few who are capable of getting the job done. I strongly believe that Nigeria can provide a technical director, but since they have made their choice all Nigerian coaches needed to do is to learn from the man believing that God will salvage us one day from this issue of foreigners.

'I firmly believe it would happened one day, at least we are happy today that our indigenous coaches are now relevant in Nigeria football.
