ABUJA, March 26, (THEWILL) - The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has charged the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur led National Working Committee (NWC), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to put machinery in motion to return discipline and unity to the party in order to be result -oriented.


Senator Mark in a congratulatory message to the new leadership of the party today in Abuja noted that there is the urgent need to begin the process of building brigades of understanding that would necessitate peace and unity most desired now before the forthcoming elections.


He pointed out: "even though we achieved consensus in virtually all the positions, we cannot totally rule out that some of our members may have been dissatisfied one way or the other. It is therefore incumbent on the new leadership to begin the process of fence mending, so that everybody is carried along.


"The PDP is a large family and the umbrella is large enough to accommodate all members. This family ties must be sustained so that together, we can join the transformation train that would ultimately take us to the promised land".


He reminded the Tukur led NWC to be guided by the principle of fairness, justice and rule of law in the discharge of its duties adding " if you do so, you will earn the support and respect of all members and your administration would be smooth."


Senator Mark also told those who lost out at convention to continue to support the new leadership in the administration of the party in the interest of all, saying, " without fear of contradiction, the PDP has once again proven to be the only democratic party ready to take the Nation to the promised land."


He promised that the PDP lawmakers in the National Assembly would continue to support the new leadership to succeed.
