Pfizer Nutrition recently launched some new products that are expected to bring succour to mothers as they battle with the challenge of feeding their babies.

They are SMA first infant milk, starter formula for babies from birth to six months, SMA follow-on formula for babies from six months to 12 months and SMA toddler milk for children, aged 1- 3 years.

Yet, another product, Promise PE Gold, which is complete milk-based nutritional supplement for children from three to 10 years, suffering from bad eating habits. It has more than 40 ingredients, containing 25 essential nutrients for the picky eater.

Speaking during the launch, Managing Director, East Mercantile, Mr. Sunil Gunter, said Africa is increasingly the greatest opportunity of the century and Nigeria is spearheading it. 'We see great opportunities. There are so many people, who will benefit from quality products that Pfizer is bringing to the market today.'

'We want to get the products to the 774 local governments in Nigeria. If we get the products there, that is a great opportunity.'

Contributing, Mr. Rajiv Ras, General Manager, Pfizer nutrition, West Africa region,said, 'we aim to be the most trusted brand in the country. Whatever we have done, the result shows that we are getting close to that. We want to be number one in the recommendation list of the professionals in Nigeria. We want to be leader in Africa and middle- East region.

'SMA is a brand that is synonymous with high quality. We want to consolidate on that position in this segment.

'In the Pfizer family, we were given the Best Company Award for 2011'.

In her remark, Mrs Margaret Olele, Associate Director Communication and Public Affairs, Pfizer, noted that the products will go a along to improve the nutritional status of children in the country. She assured of the high quality standards of the products.
