Pepperoni bags Africa award, debuts in Uyo

Pepperoni, one of the leading brands in the fast food and confectionery industry in Nigeria, has once again proven its global competitiveness as it bagged Africa awards for Entrepreneurship.

Receiving the award for Pepperoni at a colourful event in Nairobi, Kenya, was its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Eric Idogun.

The award drew special recognition from several world business leaders including global business icon, Sir Richard Branson of the Virgin group.

Pepperoni foods was honoured with this award along with six other companies after a very rigorous evaluation of its business model, products and services by an international team of business analysts.

The 2011 selection for the Africa Awards, involved a record evaluation of 3,300 companies from 48 countries in Africa.

Pepperoni foods, according to Idogun is poised to dominate the fast food industry and become the preferred brand for quality products in Nigeria and beyond. ”

This award, which is a strong endorsement of the Pepperoni's excellent business model and world class products, was sponsored by two investment firms, namely Omidyar Network and Legatum group. The award is dedicated to promoting business excellence for high growth companies in Africa and around the globe.

Meanwhile, Pepperoni, has just debut in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.

The outlet with state of the art facilities was opened to the public recently.

Addressing journalists in Uyo, Idogun said since the opening of the outlet, it has become the preferred dining place for the teaming populace of Uyo and its environs.

The Outlet, he said, offers very unique and special products that have become the hallmark of the Pepperoni brand.

His words “There is a wide array of Continental and National dishes on offer. Delicious confectionery products- Snacks, cakes, ice cream and Sharwama are also

served at the outlet. The outlet has a modern Bakery that produces fresh and delicious bread of different formulations to cater for the different taste and preference of the populace. FOTIZO photo shop is also on hand to record memories of customers' exciting

experiences at the Outlet”.
Continuing, he said Pepperoni Foods has set a standard in the fast food industry that is yet to be beaten.

Founded in 2005, the first outlet was rolled out in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State with the aim

of providing world class and healthy food products to the general public.

The initial objective, Idogun emphasized, was to provide these unique products to customers across the Niger Delta region.

“This target was met within a period of time, due to the wide acceptance of our products and services by the market.Within a short period of six years after opening the first outlet, Pepperoni Foods now have five modern purpose built outlets in Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom. Other outlets are being planned in other major cities of the country within the next couple of years. The company also have a standard table water factory (Xyno) and Bakery facilities in Port Harcourt.”

“The company currently employs close to 500 staff (most of them youths) and other seasoned professionals to run its operations in the various outlets and production centers.
