… Terrorist Sect Demands Release Of Detained Members; Sultan, Tambuwal, Acting Governor Put On Notice

SAN FRANCISCO, January 29, (THEWILL) – Nigerian terror sect, Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad loosely translated to mean Boko Haram, Sunday said it will attack Sokoto State, if members of the radical Islamic sect detained by security agencies in the state are not released immediately.

Abul-qada, the group’s spokesman in a telephone interview with journalists in Maiduguri said the interview was an open letter to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 11, Sokoto legislator and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and the Acting Governor of the State, to intervene in the matter in order to save the state from the kind of deadly attacks its members have inflicted on Kano State.

“This is an open letter to the emir of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal and the Acting Governor of Sokoto State.

“Before we visited Kano, we wrote an open letter to senior citizens there on the imperative of releasing our members but nobody cared to talk. Indeed, we sent three warnings to Kano before we struck.

“What happened in Kano will be inevitable in Sokoto unless you intervene and ensure the immediate and unconditional release of our members who were specifically arrested in the city last Thursday.”

There were reports of clashes in Maiduguri and Kano between security forces and members of the terrorist group over the weekend – 15 sect members were killed and one police officer lost his life.
