Boko Haram Kills High Court Registrar; 4 Sect Members Killed
SAN FRANCISCO, January 23, (THEWILL) – The Registrar of the State High Court in Maiduguri, Borno State, Mallam Baba Loskurima, 47, was slain on Sunday inside his Maiduguri residence by members of the Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
The Borno State Police Spokesman, Mr. Samuel Tizhe said the killing occurred at about 7pm in Budum ward of Maiduguri.
“An unknown gunman entered the house of the High Court Registrar and fired several shots into Baba’s head and chest with a Kalashnikov rifle in front of his wife and children.”
He said no arrests have been made following the fatal shooting by a lone gunman.
In another development, the Field Operations Officer of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Col. Victor Ebhaleme, has said four members of the Boko Haram have been shot dead.
In a press statement Monday, Ebhaleme said: “Four members of the Boko Haram sect involved in the killings in Maiduguri and environs and have been under the surveillance of security agencies were shot dead in Pompomari area of Maiduguri on yesterday."
He disclosed that various Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) materials prepared for detonation were also recovered from the suspects’ Golf Volkswagen vehicle.
Ebhaleme warned members of the general public to desist from harboring members of the sect, urging that any resident that notices anything suspicious should forward same to the JTF in order save lives.
