Gunmen Kidnap 80 Year-Old In Rivers State

PORT HARCOURT, November 28, (THEWILL) – Gunmen this morning abducted an 80 year-old female, Madam Margaret Ewor from her Ahoada residence in Rivers State.

Margaret is mother of the Deputy Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor.

Her abduction comes barely 24 hours after a gang of suspected gunmen were detained at Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, by soldiers of the 2nd Brigade, Port Harcourt.

Confirming the abduction of his mother, the legislator told THEWILL that the gunmen have demanded N20 million for her freedom.

Hon. Ewor, who represents Ahoada-East 1 constituency in the House, has however appealed for his mother’s unconditional release.

When contacted for details on the abduction, police spokesperson, Ben Ugwuegbulem said he was yet to receive information on the incident.
