Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to chair Celebrity Media Awards 2011
All is now set for the yearly and popular Celebrity Media awards ceremony organised by Media Ace Limited in Lagos, Nigeria. According to the Editor-in-Chief of its national magazine publication, the National Infinity, Mr. Olajide Ige, the award ceremony promises to be the best so far organised because of he calibre of celebrities expected at the occasion.
The chairman of the Celebrity Media Awards 2011 is the former Governor of Lagos State and the chieftaincy of the leading opposition party in Nigeria, Nigeria Action Congress (ACN), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He will also be inaugurating a Prize for Best Political Reporting in Nigeria.
Actually the former Lagos State Governor is expected to inaugurate the award to his name 'Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Prize' for Best Political Reporting in broadcast, online and print journalism in Nigeria.
This year's event will be taking place on Sunday, 27th November, 2011 at the magnificent De Renaissance Hotel, NO 172 Obafemi Awolowo Way, Alausa, Ikeja, (Agidingbi Junction near Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa) at 4.00pm.
Mr. Ige told thenigerianvoice.com that the award is recharged, repackaged and reloaded for 2011 Celebrity Media Awards because it is going to be hosted in collaboration with Bran Leaders Nigeria Limited. This is the first time that a media organization and a brand company will jointly present a media award. The BrandLeader Nigeria 2011 awards will be given out too. The staging of the events together is to emphasize the bond that exist between the media and corporate Nigeria because the media is indeed part and parcel of corporate Nigeria and the two cannot survive without inter-relating with each other. Worldwide, it is a known fact, that the media derives immense patronage from the corporate world while the corporate world too, enjoy immense benefits from the media, Mr. Ige emphasized
The dual event will be hosted by queen of airwaves and multiple award winning Radio Presenter, Matse Uwatse alongside Ace Comedian and Master Compere, Abiodun Olopade popularly known as MC Abbey.
While the CMA will recognize journalists in Nigeria whose focus and work fall under various categories, BrandLeaders Nigeria Awards will honour individuals, companies and their brands in recognition of their contributions to the sustenance and growth of Nigeria's business environment and for their unrelenting efforts at making their brands the number one choice of majority of Nigerian consumers in 2011.
