SAN FRANCISCO, November 19, (THEWILL) - Names of the first batch of successful applicants who have been offered jobs under the Ogun State Rapid Employment Scheme have been released.

The 3,664 candidates who passed the interview tests conducted on November 3 and 4 at the June 12 Cultural Centre and Moshood Abiola International Stadium, both in Kuto area of Abeokuta, are expected to collect their letters during a ceremony to be presided over by the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Monday, November 2I, 2011.

In a statement by Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, the state government said the list include 1,123 skilled workers and 2,532 other cadres, totalling 3,6555.

The government urged applicants to check their names on the state website-ogunstate.gov.ng while the state television station, OGTV will start scrolling the names from 11pm tonight.

Successful applicants are expected to gather at the June 12 Cultural Centre by 2pm on Monday when they will be presented with the letters of employment and given further instructions on formalities concerning their enlistment into the public service.

Applicants whose names are not on the list of those selected in the first batch should await the release of more names while those whose names were short-listed but did not participate in the interview sessions held on November 3rd and 4th will be given a second chance in a fresh interview session that will be held very shortly.

The Rapid Employment Programme is in fulfilment of the campaign promise of Governor Amosun that his administration will employ 10,000 people in the first instance.
