The recipients of the 3rd Indulge Wellness Awards are Professor Olufemi Akinyanju, (Chairman, Sickle Cell Foundation, Nigeria); Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Wife of Ekiti State Executive Governor and, Initiator, Ekiti Development Foundation (EDF) Grand Cereals Ltd for Soya Pure Oil; Chief Segun Olusola (Founder/President, AREF); Unilever for Blue Band Low Fat Spread; Ogo Maduewesi, (Founder/Executive Director, VITSAF); Dr Bolaji Olusegun Adebiyi (Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Alimosho General Hospital); African Independent Television, Promasidor for Loya High Calcium Milk; and MTN Foundation.

The achievements of these awardees cut across various areas of wellness initiatives which embrace women welfare, heart health, provision of basic human needs, encouraging healthy diet plan and lifestyle, promoting healthful and fitness activities in the work place, boosting public awareness on vitiligo, controlling and providing care for sickle cell disorder, and dissemination of healthful news through selective health programmes and talk shows.

The seminar was creative, exciting, and fun, while the public exhibition was a rare opportunity for the public to do essential medical checks, which many, for one excuse or the other, have put on hold.

Dr Jide Idris, Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, represented by Dr Femi Olugbile, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Health delivered the opening address. Thereafter, Dr Bisi Abiola, in her usual 'up and go', set the tone for the 'feel good' experience. The Sheraton Hall became charged with enthusiasm as participants laughed, danced and shook off the early morning dullness.

Dr Bolaji Adebiyi, Medical Director/CEO, Alimosho General Hospital, in his cool, calm, deliberate style, gave the participants a thrilling time during his presentation titled 'Illnesses and Diseases associated with Unhealthy lifestyle'. Dr Femi Taiwo, Director, Disease Control Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Health, on her part, gave kudos to Indulge Nigeria for organizing the seminar and exhibition, and informed participants about Lagos State Government's commitment to wellness in areas like heart, diseases control, nutrition, eye health, amongst others.

PZ Cussons's slot on 'Ways to a Healthy Skin' was brilliantly presented by Tosin Dania. The segment on the introduction of PZ new range of skincare products 'Venus Skincare Quench' elicited the most questions, which confirms the importance of skin to physical and emotional wellness. Neimeth's presentation on 'Hypertension: Causes, Prevention and Treatment' got participants rapt attention. The practical demonstration of several stress triggers by participants was hilarious, without taking the seriousness out of daily stressors like traffic, unemployment, parenthood, accident, retirement etc and their negative impact on people's physical and emotional wellbeing.

The aerobics session finally ended the seminar. It generated so much energy, excitement and fun as participants followed the instructor's movement to exhilarating music. The aerobics caused a lot of sweating and feel good at the end of the day.

'Indulge is doffing its hat to the recipients for their resilience, passion, and consistency over the years, because they insist on contributing their time, energy and resources to make the world a better place, even in the face of tremendous challenges to the cause they believe in. That is why they are being celebrated' says Dr Abiola.
