A PDP chieftain Clifford Ordia has said the removal of fuel subsidy will help create more jobs and improve on the decaying infrastructure in the country.

Ordia told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Benin that the removal would further help the government to generate more fund.

He noted that infrastructure decay and youth unemployment were critical areas that needed government's urgent attention for the transformation agenda of the president to become a reality.

He said that if government must succeed in its task to eradicate poverty and insecurity, it must take urgent steps that would be beneficial to the people

“If the removal of subsidy from oil will increase government's revenue, generate employment and improve on the decaying infrastructure, then it is a welcome development.

“If government can assure the people that the fund generated will be used to their advantage, then we support it,'' Ordia said.

On the issue of insecurity in the country, he urged the security agencies to do proper networking with a view to making sure that lives and properties were safe and secure.

According to him, this is the time for security agencies to be on top of their job to ensure safety of lives and properties. ''

Ordia noted that the killing and maiming of innocent citizens in some parts of the country was an act that was alien to Nigeria.

He said that security was the responsibility of everybody, adding that there was the need for security orientation.

He appealed to the government to channel more fund to security agencies with a view to solving the insecurity in the nation.
