FORMER GOVERNOR OF GOMBE, ALHAJI DANJUMA GOJE

SAN FRANCISCO, October 10, (THEWILL) – Alhaji Danjuma Goje, a former governor of Gombe State and serving senator of the federal republic early Monday morning submitted himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency had declared Goje wanted over allegations that he misappropriated about N52 billion during his 8-year tenure as governor of the northern state.

Senator Goje was accompanied by his lawyer and an aide when he reported to the agency’s Abuja headquarters at about 4.20 am.

Meanwhile, THEWILL has gathered that Goje alongside detained former Governors Gbenga Daniel (Ogun State), Aliyu Akwe Doma (Nasarrawa State) and Adebayo Alao-Akala (Oyo State) will be prosecuted in their various states.

Attempts to arraign them today was stalled because judges of the Federal High Court are in Sokoto State attending ceremonies to mark the commencement of a new legal year.
