Meanwhile, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, declared wanted by the anti-graft agency, has said that he would appear before EFCC on Monday to clear his name of alleged corrupt practices.

In a letter through his lawyers to Mrs. Farida Waziri, chairman of the EFCC yesterday, Goje said that he is currently out of the country and would honor the agency's invitation on Monday when he returns.

He said that as a law-abiding citizen, he was ready to defend his actions while in office as governor of Gombe State.

Reacting to Goje's plight, a non-governmental organisation, the Movement for Social Justice and Equity (MSJE), had alleged that some politicians are out to “persecute” Goje for their selfish political agenda.

The group said Goje did not deserve the ongoing “persecution, in view of his sound socio-political and economic achievements” while in office for eight years.

Daniel allegedly stole or misappropriated N58 Billion, Akala, N25 Billion and Doma, N18 billion, while Goje allegedly made away with N52 Billion of state cash.

Pointblanknews.com sources hinted that the former state chief executives may be arraigned next week .

Top sources hinted the EFCC may soon conclude investigation on the tenure of Former Imo Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, and five others.

Said our source “they are going to be here till next week. They are not taking any chances. As you know (Danjuma) Goje is on the run. These guys, considering their wealth are flight risks. They will be arraigned next week”

It was also gathered that last minute moves by the trio to get off the hook via bail, on self-recognition, were rebuffed by the EFCC boss , Farida Waziri. Flight risk played an important role in the decision to keep the men locked up, it was learnt.

Pointblanknews.com learnt that the EFCC has placed all ex Governors being investigated under surveillance, sequel to the disappearance of Goje Friday.

According to our source, the EFCC had penciled down four Governors for arrest this week: Daniel, Akala, Doma and Goje. But Goje beat the trap and fled. The EFCC has declared him wanted.

Pointblanknews.com sources, hinted that some commissioners as well as contractors in their states have been quizzed as well.

It was further learnt that the wives of Daniel and Akala, were at the EFCC to see their husbands with change of clothes and food. It was also gathered their attorneys and doctors visited on Friday. A coterie of loyalists, and family members were also seen around the EFCC Abuja office discussing in hush tones, our source hinted.
