TAVA AWARD FOR KAMSEE

Just as his wide smile sits almost permanently on his round face, fast rising teenage musician, Kamsi Ekpenyong popularly known as Kamsee has every reason to grin from ear to ear as recognition is beginning to come his way.

During the week, initiator of the prestigious African Audio visual award, TAVA, veteran actor, Paul Ogunjiofor formally presented Kamsee with the TAVA 2011 OrekeBeau Young Entrepreneur award for Creativity in the Arts which he won at the TAVA ceremony in July. Although the lad was not present at the occasion but he got a loud ovation for the awards. He also won the Best Gospel Reggae music video-My Father in Heaven.

Just as the Americans are celebrating the singing prowess of Justin Bieber, back home and around Africa and beyond, the 11 year old JSS 2 student of Trinity International College is also making a loud statement with his music. Already he has performed at big concerts and events such as: AY Live, Whizkid concert, Nite of a Thousand Laughs, Tuface Jams, Stella Damasus album launch and still counting.

The OrekeBeau award also came with a cash prize of N100,000. Kamsee who hails from Akwa Ibom said that he intends to make a career out of music and has the like of Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber as role models.
