WARRI-LABOUR Party, LP candidate for Warri North constituency in last April election, Mr. Adanse Felix, has called  for the convocation of a National Sovereign Conference, NSC, where all the ethnic nationalities would converge to discuss Nigeria's future, adding that Nigerians have nothing to celebrate at 51 years of independence.

In a statement Monday, Felix said  the way forward for the country  was national discuss through the convocation of a National Sovereign Conference, NSC, where all the ethnic nationalities would converge to discuss Nigeria's future.

He said: 'I want to specifically remind Nigerians that we are celebrating emptiness. What are we celebrating? A country bedeviled with corruption, nepotism, tribalism, injustice, oppression has nothing to celebrate.'

A country where the problems of a section of the country are not addressed cannot celebrate. A country where the people whose land produce d bulk of earnings are balkanised deliberately, oppressed, cheated, cannot celebrate.

Until the people of Niger-Delta enjoy the same kind of social amenities enjoyed elsewhere, we have no reason to celebrate. A country that celebrates corruption doesn't have any business to celebrate.

'A country that directs electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to select and appoint instead of democratically electing her leaders through the ballot cannot celebrate. A country characterised by injustice and jungle justice has no moral right to celebrate.

A country with epileptic power cannot celebrate. As far as these issues are not addressed, Nigeria is only celebrating 51 years of pains, oppression, injustice, waste, endemic corruption, woes, weeping, among others. Nigeria cannot grow with these woes growing side by side her except pro-active measures were taken to address them.

We need to discuss Nigeria through NSC, where all the ethnic nationalities either majority or minority would converge to discuss the way forward for our country,' he added.
