MARWA'S BID

Ahead of the January governorship election in Adamawa, former military governor of Borno and Lagos states, Brig Gen. Buba Marwa on Tuesday reiterated his commitment to contest for the Adamawa governorship seat on the Congress for Progressive Party platform

Marwa, who spoke to newsmen in Yola on Tuesday, debunked rumours that he was leaving the CPC.

'It is unfounded rumour and a propaganda stuff from the other parties. I will run the race under CPC. To those that are going to face me on election day too bad for them,' Marwa said.

He accused the state Peoples Democratic Party-led government of engaging in unnecessary propaganda to discredit him, adding that he was committed to campaign of issues in his quest to govern the state.

The CPC governorship candidate expressed sympathy with the people of Adamawa over the ongoing strike by workers over minimum wage and urged the state government to pay the minimum wage, which, he said, had now become a law that must be respected.
