John Obuh looks set to retain his position as Flying Eagles head coach, SuperSport.com can report. The coach, who also manages Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Sharks, has been given a vote of confidence from the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

NFF's President, Aminu Maigari, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance. Obuh's men have also enjoyed same plaudit from the NFF acting secretary general, Musa Amadu, and board member, Chris Green.

'I'm happy with the performance of the team. They showed the true character of a Nigerian team in Colombia,' Maigari said.

Amadu, however, pointed out that the federation's technical committee chaired by Green will assess the performance of Flying Eagles after Obuh submits his report.

'The technical committee will meet after the coach must have submitted his report to them. It's just the basic thing to do after every championship. 'It is the committee that will determine what the coach will be doing in the coming days,' Amadu said.

Obuh was head coach of the Nigerian Under-17 men's team before he was elevated to the Under-20 side.
