MINISTERIAL LIST TEARS DELTA PDP APART

By NBF News

ASABA-DELTA State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, yesterday, denied knowledge of how the list of ministerial-nominees emanated.

He told Vanguard in Asaba, yesterday, that, 'I have received over 400 telephone calls since morning about the list. I was shocked because I don't know anything about this list published in Vanguard today (yesterday).

'I had told the people to remain calm. As I said earlier, as the Chairman of the party, I was not aware about the list. In fact, I don't know where Vanguard got the list it published,' he added.

Some of the PDP party chieftains spoken to over the list cautioned that the issue be handled with care so as not to disintegrate the party further after witnessing a wind of defection following the wrangling that erupted during the party primaries.

Meanwhile, one of the newly-elected members of the Delta State House of Assembly on the platform of Democratic People's Party, DPP, Mr. Benjamin Essien, representing Isoko South I constituency, has vowed to remain focused in his quest to improve the lots of his people, who voted for him, through selfless service to the people, saying 'that is what I stand for.'

To actualise the dream, he said, 'I am open to suggestions on how best we all can move our constituency forward and it is my intention, therefore, to work with the state government through her relevant agencies to attract development to the constituency.'
