ENYIMBA UNSTOPPABLE -ANYANSI
The Chairman of Enyimba international Football Club of Aba, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu, is confident that his side will qualify for the semi final of the CAF champions league competition after draws for the group stage pitched Enyimba against Coton Sport of Cameroon, Raja of Morocco and Hilal of Sudan. The two time winner of the competition is expected to start the campaign of regaining the trophy at home against Hilal come july 17.
He told Daily Sunsports on Monday that the teams are not new to his team and has promised to re enact the winning magic that saw Enyimba win the competition back to back. 'We are going to lift the CAF champions league trophy this season, Anyansi started.
'The most difficult aspect of this competition is qualifying for this stage and I am happy we are here.
'None of these teams in group A is new to us in Enyimba. We have played them severally and I am confident that we shall overcome them this time round.
'I respect them because it is not easy to come this far but we shall distinguish between the grain and chaff when it all begins'.
'Most people make mistakes in this competition but as a man that has seen it all, I can tell you that every team is a threat because if you do not meet in the preliminary stage or knock out stage, be prepared to meet your foes at the group stage .
So, we will take them as normal opponents and progress ahead.
Coton Sport is a good side any day, so I expect it to qualify alongside Enyimba at the end of the day'.
'But I am not happy that TP Mazembe was disqualified. I had expected it to come out of its group and meet us.
I wanted us to reclaim our place in the continent by beating Mazembe enroute winning this trophy, but it is a pity the club has been disqualified by CAF for fielding ineligible player in one of its matches.
