Governor Alao Akala of Oyo state has gradually overcome the shock with which he received the result of the governorship election held in the state which gave victory to the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Senator Abiola Ajimobi. The governor had begun celebrations of victory with his associates before the final result was let out by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The governor, who has now taken it in good fate, has setup a 21-man Transition Committee to liaise closely with the in-coming administration so as to ensure a hitch-free transition and transfer of baton to the in-coming administration.

While giving the Committee terms of duty, he tasked the members to cooperate fully with their counterparts from the governor-elect and furnish them with all necessary information without any hindrance.

The 21-man Transition Committee which comprises Permanent Secretaries is headed by Alhaji Tajudeen Aremu while the Secretary is Mr. David Olatunde, a Director in the Cabinet Office.

Meanwhile, the governor-elect of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has said that soon as he is sworn in as governor of Oyo state, he would immediately improve the welfare package of the workers of the state.

The governor-elect stated this while responding to the advice from the incumbent governor Alao Akala, who, through his Special Adviser on Public Communication, Prince Dotun Oyelade, tasked him to continue with his policy of making workers in the state comfortable.

Senator Ajimobi also told the workers that he would ensure that the people of the state recover all that they had lost in the past dispensation.

Governor Akala, while imploring workers in the state to continue to be diligent and show greater determination in their workplaces towards efficiency, admitted that a conducive work environment and reasonable welfare package were motivations that workers needed for better output.

It could be recalled that the administration of Governor Akala had frosty relationship with the workforce in the state which resulted in several industrial crises.
