PLAY AS UNIT, RABIU URGES COLLEAGUES

By NBF News

PSV Eindhoven's midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim has charged his team mates to play as a unit this weekend when the National Under-23 team otherwise called 'Dream Team' files out against its Liberian counterpart in the second leg first round, All Africa Games qualifier at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Rabiu, speaking before departing for the Netherlands on Wednesday, urged his colleagues not to underrate the Liberians but play to the instructions of Coach Austin Eguavoen.

'It will not be an easy game. But I trust my teammates to live up to the billing. They are a good side with many tall attackers. So, I would advise my colleagues to play as a unit because I know the Liberians will be out to frustrate our pattern of play. But above all, they must play to the coach's instructions' Rabiu appealed.

The former Golden Eaglets play maker, who rued his lack of action this weekend, owing to a knee injury, expressed confidence that the Dream team V will triumph over its Liberian opponent. 'But you know, I have no doubt in my mind; looking at the array of talents at the disposal of the coach, I even feel sorry for Coach Eguavoen because he faces the challenge of selection.

I only wish I was there'. On the state of his injury, the 20-year-old former Sporting Clube de Portugal midfielder declared that he was fast recovering but needed to rest his knee in line with doctor's advice.

'I feel a lot better now compared to the last time we spoke.
