The technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has queried the rational behind the Austin Eguaveon and Eucharia Uche's invitation of several Europe-based players for the second leg of their respective qualifiers.

The NFF's image maker, Ademola Olajire, said in Abuja that the football house regarded the list as not considerate of their finanacial burden and is, therefore, considering pruning the number of the foreign-based players that would take part in the trip.

'The football house has spoken with Falcon's chief coach over the matter and she saw reason with us that it is absolutely useless to invite about eight foreign-based players for a match that they had already won 7-0 in the first leg. And I want to tell you that she had agreed to prosecute the match with home-based players.'

In the same vain, the NFF spokesperson also maintained that the technical committee will be looking into the Under-23 list to reduce the number of foreign- based players that would come for the match.

'The NFF is also going to look into that too. There is absolutely no sense in the coach inviting 12 players for a match that you had already won convincingly in the first leg. This is a total waste of money.'

Both Austin Eguavoen and Uche Ucheria had led their teams to resounding victories in the first leg of their qualifiers, and both coaches are still not bold enough to feature the home-based players, who have been training, against the weak opponents in the second legs.
