Ekiti PDP laments NASS elections postponement

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has lamented the postponement of the National Assembly elections, saying; "We have been denied a beatiful vistory dance that we would have been having today."

The party in a statement issued by its Director of Communications and Strategy, Jackson Adebayo said "if the Saturday elections had not been botched, we would have been congratulating our two Senators and House of Reps elect by now."

Adebayo said the reports available to the party through its field officers indicated that the PDP was getting well over 70 percent of the votes in most of the areas where voting was already going on before the exercise was stopped.

"By now, we ought to be singing victory songs because the elections were going in our way before it was stopped.

"However, we are confident that anytime the elections are held, we will always be victorious because we have the people behind us.

"Besides, the people have come to realise the hypocrisy, emptiness and propaganda of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and can no longer wait to expose these to the world to see.

"We therefore imploy the people not to relent in their support for our party and its candidates, and they should repeat the love demonstrated last Saturday by coming out to vote enmasse for the PDP next Saturday and in other elections," Adebayo said.
