DISU SUGGESTS ATTACKING GAME TO SIASIA

By NBF News

Flying Eagles' former coach, Tunde Disu, is disturbed that ahead of the March 27 Nations Cup match between Nigeria and Ethiopia, Coach Samson Siasia is yet to play a top quality friendly to ascertain the strength of the team that he hopes to take to battle.

He, however, said that the team will roll over the Ethiopians on the strength of the array of stars in its lineup and the Nigerian spirit.

Therefore, he told Siasia to go full throttle against the East Africans, maintaining that the full points should not be a subject of negotiation as Nigeria is trailing the group leader, Guinea, by three points. He wants only the best set of who are technically and tactically fit and mentally ready to do battle for the country.

'I'm worried that Siasia was not able to play, at least, a friendly before the forth coming Nigeria versus Ethiopia match. If he had played the botched Obama Cup in the USA, he could have used it to blend the players he has in his plans for the match. It would have been an opportunity for him to see those who are based overseas and determined their strength.

That botched game could have helped him to come up with his strategy, something different from what Amodu Shuaibu and Austin Eguavoen had. What we expect him to come up with is something peculiar to him - a style of coaching that his players can understand and play, bearing in mind that a system doesn't make the players; it is the players that make the system.

'Although, he was unable to see all his players playing as a team, I'm sure he has been watching them in their respective team clubs overseas. He can complement that experience by encouraging a regime of discipline in the team. If any player fails to report on time let him not play. 'My expectation is that he will have a very good outing against the Ethiopians in his first competitive game.
