NUT commends Olaosebikan on Infrastructural Developments

Impressed by the bold steps being taken towards the infrastructural development of Oluyole Local Government area of Oyo State, primary and secondary school teachers in the local government have pledged their total support to the Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan.

The teachers, acting under the aegis of National Union of Teachers, Oluyole Branch said they were highly stunned by the unprecedented friendly, unique and people oriented style of Olaosebikan in the running of the local government.

Speaking while on a courtesy call to the local government in IdiAyunre office, the chapter chairman of the union, Mr Isaac Adio said that the teachers were particularly moved by the mass rural road rehabilitation programme already going on in all the wards of the local government stating that “ it is a product of good thinking , focus and care for all on the part of the new chairman.

Adio said that the decision of the NUT to pay the courtesy call on Alhjai Olaosebikan the first of such in recent times, was based on the performance and realization of the fact that “Olaosebikan is indeed a friend of all.”

The NUT boss said that the nation needs more of Olaosebikan in politics because , according to him “ Olaosebikan has within a very short time proved that he was not merely interested in power but in the promotion of the general good of the local government area and her people.

“ W e are on a courtesy call to this office because we have over the weeks followed the activities of the chairman and we are glad to inform you that the entire teachers in the state, just like the majority of the people of the local government area are happy with your sterling performance.

“Let me say here too that we have heard and seen physically the rural road transformation exercise of your government which we as teachers are sure of benefitting from as rural teachers, we commend the initiative and pray to God to give you the energy and resources to complete the project as you have promised.

Adio however urged the Local government chairman to look into the problem of infrastructural facilities in the schools as well as issues bothering on Salary structure of the teachers in the state as well as other benefits of teachers.

Welcoming the executive of NUT executive, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan said the government of the day in Oyo state knows the value of education and has such put in place many programme to enhance education sector in all the local government areas.

Olaosebikan declared that the issue of education and particularly those concerning the welfare of the teachers were paramount to the state governor promising that all their requests would soon be acceded to by the state governor.

On Oluyole, the chairman maintained that education is the bedrock of any nation and proactive steps have been taken to make Oyo state a role model for others across Nigeria in terms of educational infrastructural programmes.

Already, Olaosebikan opined that the state was already blessed with the best of teachers across the state and that the state government would continue to motivate them in order to get the best from them at all times.

On isse of infrastructure, the chairman disclosed that efforts were in the making to build additional blocks of classrooms in all the primary schools in the local government and provision of additional teaching and writing materials to the schools.

Olaosebikan thanked the teachers for the courtesy visit and promised to continue to dedicate all the resources of the local government to the development of the area.
