ONI HAILS EKITI ACN OVER SWEEPING OF ADO

By Lere Olayinka

For leading their members to sweep the major streets of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital after President Goodluck Jonathan's campaign rally of yesterday, former governor of the State, Chief Segun Oni has hailed leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the State for living to their name and duty.

Oni, in a release issued by his Chief Media Aide, Wale Ojo-Lanre said he was not surprised when he saw the ACN members sweeping the Streets with glee this morning, adding that; “It would have been otherwise if members of a party of agbale oja (market sweepers) do not come out to sweep the campaign ground that was used by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday.

“When I was told that our friends in the ACN were on the Streets of ado-Ekiti, sweeping what they termed President Jonathan's legs from Ekiti State, I just couldn't but laugh.

“I told people around me that; what do you expect from a party that has broom as its symbol? Are they not supposed to make use of their brooms? Won't they help to keep the State capital clean?

“Honestly, they should be hailed for assisting the street sweepers and I thank them for helping to keep our State capital clean.”

While describing the ACN as a party of people whose minds are yearning for reconstruction, Ojo-Lanre said; “When goodluck comes to a man's house, he open his arms to receive it. But in this case, the ACN people are saying that; 'even the remnants of goodluck left behind after PDP members had taking theirs yesterday, we do not want.' Is this not funny?

“That a group of people would; with their own hands sweep goodluck away from their lives, is to say the least puzzling and all sane minds must begin to pray for the redeem of the souls of these ACN people.”

Appealing to the ACN government in the State to purge itself of political intolerance, Ojo-Lanre said; “The way these people are going with their political intolerance, only God knows what they are going to do during the general elections.

“Just imagine what they did at Fajuyi? Because we wrote the government that we will hold our rally at Fajuyi Park, they quickly dumped heap of sand on the land earmarked for the construction of Ekiti Development House.

“Ridiculously too, they started making six inches blocks on the land and the moment they knew that we have moved the rally to Christ School, they stopped!

“Attitude like these only depicts one thing, inferiority complex and I hope the ACN government would begin to do its own thing and leave other parties to do theirs.”
