SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 18, (THEWILL) – The Joint Military Task Force in Plateau State has been given orders to shoot to kill after irate Christian youths killed a Muslim election official and set him ablaze on Monday.

Two order persons were killed in the violence.
Spokesman of the Military Task Force, Captain Charles Ekeocha told reporters that the new order allows soldiers to kill anyone attempting to destroy religious buildings, homes, properties or cause bodily harm to anyone.

The spokesman explained that Monday’s violence occurred after electoral commission officers opted to move a registration center from a secondary without informing the joint military task force or police.

Hundreds lost their lives in multiple religious/ethnic clashes in Plateau State in the last decade.
