Okwesilieze Nwodo Resigns

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 18, (THEWILL) - Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo has resigned as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) ahead of a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

Nwodo's letter of resignation was tendered at the meeting by Dr Pat Abachi, one of his Special Assistants.

Dr. Nwodo's resignation followed his conduct at the Special National Convention of the party in Abuja where he forcefully took over the conduct of the convention after misinforming President Goodluck Jonathan that he had vacated a court order restraining him from parading himself as party chairman.
