The Lagos Central Senatorial zone recently inaugurated Jonathan-Sambo Campaign Council for the 2011 presidential election. Speaking at the occasion, the Coordinator of the group for the zone, Caroline Osagie, described the candidacy of Jonathan/Sambo as the return of the Ark.

She said Jonathan has a divine mandate and encouraged Nigerians to support him.

'This is a man who rose from nowhere to somewhere. When you see Jonathan, you see a man who can make a difference in the service of his country. You see a man with hope. Goodluck Jonathan has a dream for Nigeria. He has promised good governance to the Nigerian populace.

He represents the Ark of God and his emergence is the return of the Ark. We should massively support Jonathan/Sambo for he is God made and not man made,' she said. In his remarks, the state coordinator, Prince Babatunde Sarumi said: 'It seems to me that the consensus of most Nigerian is that the time has come for us to break from the past and progress into a better future.

We should not allow Nigeria to be pulled back again by those who believe they should have their way. We need a Nigeria where Christians and Muslims will leave as brothers and sisters and where pleasantry will be exchanged with hand shake.'

Among the personalities present at the event were Senator Seye Ogunlewe, Engr Hakeem Gbajabiamila, the Lagos State Coordinator of the group, Prince Babatunde Sarumi and the Secretary Alhaji T.B Lawal among others.
