UNDERAGED WATCH SEX MOVIES FREELY IN LAGOS
In an apparent disregard for the rules and regulations of the Nigeria Film and Censorship Board, an elderly man operates a thriving pornographic film house at Ago-Ijaye Street, Oshodi. We gathered this morning that every evening, both male and female youngsters,including underaged children, besiege the cinema house in their numbers to watch sex movies.
The illegal entertainment spot is run by a man known as Alhaji Alli.
In front of the film house, there are obscene posters of sex scenes from various movies.
A resident of the area told us that the illegal cinema house was raided by the police last year but the owner refused to close it down.
A defiant Alhaji Alli said: “I am not afraid of being harassed by the police. This film house is registered. I actually show pornographic films to young people because that is what they want. I also show American films.”
Solomon, a youth and regular patron of the cinema house told us that “the baba cannot be intimidated by the police because he has 'settled' them.”
Another film house operator in Oshodi condemned Alhaji Alli for showing pornographic films to youngsters.
According to him, Alli shows blue films to kids due to his low level of intelligence.
Some of the residents of the area expressed disgust over the presence of the pornographic film house.
Also inside Mile 12 Market, Ketu, some of the video clubs sell and show pornographic films to even under aged persons.
Investigations revealed that the operators have converted some of the abandoned stalls inside the market into viewing centres where they show the x-rated sex movies.
Apart from the market, most viewing centres in Ikeja, Ogba, Agege and other parts of Lagos State have been turned into pornographic film viewing centres.
Sex videos are also sold openly on the streets of Lagos.
Investigations revealed that the police sometimes arrest sellers of the sex videos but fail to prosecute them because they allegedly collect bribes from the traders and let them off the hook.
