Ogoni Arbitration Enforcement Department Announces Final Preparations on Formal Schedule of Arbitration Proceedings on Intergenerational Liability Claim Against the Nigerian State

Today, July 9, 2026, the Ogoni Arbitration Department issued an official public notice confirming moves toward the commencement of arbitration sessions related to the Intergenerational Liability Claim Against the Nigerian State and Co Defendants, a matter valued at USD 69 trillion. This announcement marks a historic milestone for the Ogoni people and all affiants seeking justice through indigenous legal processes.

The Arbitration Registry has outlined a structured series of sessions, administrative reviews, and procedural briefings designed to advance the arbitration toward full sitting. All affiants, authorized representatives, and relevant parties are notified of the following schedule:

Scheduled Arbitration Activities

1. Governors’ Meeting — Sunday, July 19, 2026 Indigenous arbitrators will provide a comprehensive briefing on customary and traditional arbitration processes. Participants will review administrative directives, including provincial security protocols.

2. Case Briefings Presentation of all matters slated for arbitration, including updates on case readiness and procedural compliance.

3. Issuance of Action Plans Cases that have successfully passed preliminary review will receive formal action plans outlining next steps.

4. Pre Arbitration Trial Verification and examination of evidentiary materials submitted by affiants and defendants.

5. Attorney Filings & Date Assignments Individuals, groups and counsels representing affiants will formally take dates and complete all mandatory filings required for progression to sitting.
