Mighty Jets Feeders, Three Others Earn NNL Promotion
Four clubs have secured promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) after impressive performances at the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) promotion playoffs.
Mighty Jets Feeders FC, Neurospark FC, DMD FC and Junior Danburam FC all earned places in the country's second-tier league following successful campaigns in their respective playoff centres.
Mighty Jets Feeders FC and Neurospark FC emerged as the standout teams at the Lafia Centre, finishing at the top of Groups A and B with six points each. Their consistent displays throughout the competition were enough to seal promotion to the next level.
At the Damaturu Centre, DMD FC dominated the standings, collecting nine points to finish as group winners. Junior Danburam FC matched that achievement at the Dutse Centre, also ending the playoffs with a perfect nine-point haul to confirm their elevation to the NNL.
The four newly promoted sides will compete in the Northern Conference of the Nigeria National League during the 2026/27 campaign, where they will face more experienced opposition in a bid to establish themselves.
Meanwhile, the race for promotion is not yet complete. The remaining slots for clubs representing the South-West region will be decided later this month when another round of NLO promotion playoffs takes place in Abeokuta and Ado Ekiti.
The conclusion of the northern playoffs marks another important step in the Nigerian football pyramid, giving ambitious grassroots clubs the opportunity to compete at a higher level.
For the promoted teams, attention will now shift to strengthening their squads and preparing for the challenges that await in the highly competitive Nigeria National League next season.
