Senator Nwebonyi Flags Off Construction Of Amike Aba Road with Concrete Pavement
says it's completion would boost commercial activities and improve the living standards of residents.
Deputy Chief whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has flagged off the construction of the first phase of the Amike Aba Town Hall Road project, describing it as part of his commitment to delivering quality constituency projects to the people.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Senator Nwebonyi said the project is a 2-kilometre road, with the first phase covering 1 kilometre.
He explained that it was captured under the 2025 Constituency Intervention Programme and designed to meet modern construction standards.
According to him, the road will be constructed with concrete pavement due to the soil texture and topography of the area. He stressed that the aim is to provide infrastructure that will serve the people for decades.
“We are going to construct a road that can last for 30 to 50 years,” he said.
The lawmaker stated that he has executed several similar projects across Ebonyi North, noting that within his three years in office, he has delivered more than 10 kilometres of concrete pavement roads, over 30 kilometres of earthworks, as well as several culverts and bridges across the senatorial zone.
Nwebonyi attributed his commitment to quality representation to the support and leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, saying:
“I promised in 2023 that I was going to set a standard when we talk about representation in Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone.”
He also praised the governor’s infrastructural achievements, saying the administration has recorded unprecedented progress in road construction across the state.
He further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting constituency projects through national budgetary interventions.
The Senator described the Amike Aba Town Hall Road project as an economic empowerment initiative, noting that its completion would boost commercial activities and improve the living standards of residents.
“I love doing this because, by opening this road, I have renewed and revived the economy of this area,” he stated.
Senator Nwebonyi also called on the people of Ebonyi State and residents of the Southeast to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence that continued support would attract more dividends of democracy to the region
