Popular Kano TikToker Detained In Connection With Boyfriend's Death Under Mysterious Circumstances
The Kano State Police Command has detained popular TikTok creator Fati Cele following the suspicious death of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye, in her Danbare, Kano, apartment. The incident prompted an investigation into the circumstances of the fatality.
Witnesses reported that Cele alerted neighbors to a fire, and upon entering, they found Makaye with severe burns and traces of blood. The victim was rushed to Nassarawa Hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive.
Authorities continue to hold Cele as investigations into the incident, which occurred within her residence, proceed.
Sources also disclosed that officers from the Dorayi Babba Police Division subsequently took Cele into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
Friends of the deceased and acquaintances of the TikTok influencer stated that the couple had experienced relationship difficulties in the past and had reportedly separated before reconciling recently.
Makaye, a cosmetics trader from the Hotoro Tishama area of Kano, was later buried at Unguwa Uku Yan Awaki after his remains were released to family members for funeral rites.
