WHY I WANT TO BE ABIA GOV – CHRIS AKOMAS
Former Abia State deputy governor, Chris Alozie Akomas has said he is in the governorship race to fulfill the promises he made to Abia people on the platform of the Progressive Peoples Alliance PPA, four years ago. Akomas disclosed that while his former boss and incumbent , Governor, Theodore Orji , was in detention in far away Lagos , the electioneering campaigns was solely left in his hands. He recalled that while the campaign was going on, he made certain promises which were in line with the constitutions of his party .
But to his utmost dismay, he said, the Governor took over and left everything undone. To make matters worst, he resorted to moving from one party to the order with the excuses that he was in bondage . Akomas said it was for that reason that he resigned from his government to allow him prepare grounds to return as governor to fulfill those promises which his party made.
He therefore, called on Abians to realise that PPA is the only party that brought this government to power, even though the regime has betrayed the party. He added that the party is taking over to accomplish what it has promised the people. He urged Abians not to fold their arms and allow the lies of a cosmetics government that is only interested in self and not in the needs of the masses thrive.
Akomas who spoke through his Campaign Manager, Prince Emeka Okafor , a one-time commissioner in the government of Theodore Orji, said the ex deputy governor is a man of ideas who alto admire good things.
According to Okafor, his manifestoes lies in bringing back the lost glory of Abia by providing security, employment , infrastructure etc.
'I want to thank Mr president for restoring the hope of the people in Abia by deploying soldiers until such a time when Akomas will come on board to steer the ship of the state in the right direction. We want to encourage the industrialists and traders to be patient with us , because the glory for which Abia is known would surely come back', he said.
PPA is the party that has structures on the ground aand as they have done it before , they will surely do it again, Akomas said.
