Maintain Your Lane

It is no longer news that the burgeoning Nigeria Democratic Congress was recently rocked by bitter in-fighting resulting from its tumultuous party primaries. No positive purpose is served by recapitulating or relitigating the details of the tempest. All we can say is to let bygones be bygones, and to everyone, maintain your lane.

To everyone in NDC, maintain your lane and treat others with respect.

National Leader, maintain your lane and be National Leader, responsible for party organization, party global marketing, party goals articulation, party internal harmony, and party cohesion.

Presidential Candidate and Vice-Presidential Candidate, maintain your lanes as the 'presidential and vice-presidential' tickets respectively, and be responsible for presidential platform articulation and presidential campaign initiatives.

Party Chairman and party executives, maintain your lane and be responsible for Party day-to-day administration.

Party members, maintain your lane and be responsible for Party support.

Pressure groups and movements like the O-K movement, maintain your lanes, and focus on voter mobilization, voter education, and vote protection.

The hand cannot function as the head, neither can the brain function as the heart.

Every part of the body is important and should treat the other parts with dignity and respect.

A brain, no matter how brilliant it is, cannot function to its full potential without the help and support of the other bodily parts.

The goal of a new Nigeria is too important to be treated with levity and carelessness or intramural conflict.

The future of 230 million Nigerians, currently subjected to abysmal leadership, is at stake.

The unabated killings, rampant kidnappings, gory beheadings, serial borrowing, savage looting, feudal taxation. Is that what Nigerians want to endure for four more years so that a sophisticated fraudster and criminally penalized ‘drugster’ will complete eight years tenure?

Come on!!!
Nominally, literally, and figuratively, the head is the head of the body.

For one, it is on top of the rest of the body.
But it is not the master of the body.
It cannot turn itself. It needs the neck to do that.

It cannot scratch itself or comb its hair by itself. It needs the hand to do that.

It cannot move around by itself. It needs the legs to do that.

When the head is cut off from the rest of the body, it is useless, as is the rest of the body.

Only a foolish head will claim superiority over the rest of the body, just as, only a foolish body will claim superiority over its head.

So, everyone, maintain your lane, and play your designated role.

A wise political party would market its political products because it sells itself through them.

Wise product managers would market their political party because that is what is written on the ballot paper.

To demarket your political products is to demarket your political party.

To demarket your political party is to demarket your political product.

It is a symbiotic relationship which can either be win-win or lose-lose.

So, let it be win-win.
A lot of hope for national rebirth and national renewal is riding on the NDC.

If the NDC collapses, hope will collapse in Nigeria. Gloom and doom will envelope Nigerians, whether at home or in the diaspora.

Let all NDC members swallow their respective pride and ego and sheathe their vengeful swords for the sake of a new Nigeria. Let all maintain their respective designated lanes to avoid useless ego-driven conflicts that serve no meaningful purposes.

We are 👁 👁.
