SID To Unlock Unique Job Opportunities For Digital Transformation, Talent Devt
Anambra State Government has announced plans to strengthen its position as a leading technology and innovation hub through the Solution Innovation District (SID).
Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation and CEO of SID, Ms. Chinwe Okoli said the initiative forms a key part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second-term development agenda.
She said the next phase of SID would focus on expanding digital infrastructure, supporting startups, strengthening innovation ecosystems, activating the district ecosystem and creating more technology-driven employment opportunities.
According to her, the SID has already established a solid foundation for digital transformation and talent development, with efforts now geared toward scaling its impact across the state.
She revealed that several Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms are preparing to establish operations in Anambra, attracted by the growing pool of digitally skilled youths trained through the state’s innovation programmes.
"The firms are expected to recruit young professionals for global service delivery and digital economy roles, creating sustainable employment opportunities for thousands of residents.
"The initiative will stimulate economic growth, attract investment, promote innovation, and enhance Anambra’s competitiveness in the global digital economy," she added.
Okoli emphasized that preparation is underway to fully activate the new SID facility as a hub for attracting more technology companies, startups and BPO firms, while strengthening job-matching systems that connect trained youths with international employment opportunities.
She expressed confidence that through digital skills development, private-sector partnerships, and job placement support, SID would play a major role in reducing unemployment, empowering Anambra youths, and accelerating the state's emergence as a leading centre for technology and innovation in Africa.
