Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a suspected notorious female drug dealer during a raid on a drug enclave in Imo State, while separate operations in Edo and Kano states led to the seizure of various illicit substances and the arrest of additional suspects.

The operations, which formed part of the agency’s ongoing nationwide offensive against drug trafficking and abuse, also resulted in the interception of thousands of tramadol capsules in Gombe State.

According to a statement signed by the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, officers raided a notorious drug hub at Umulolo in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, where they apprehended 32-year-old Chioma Okeke and recovered eight kilograms of skunk.

In Edo State, a major sweep of identified drug hotspots across Benin City on June 2 led to the arrest of four suspected traffickers, three of them women.

At Uyosa, Benin City, operatives arrested Chioma Igba, 24, and Precious Ozomah, 22, with assorted illicit substances comprising 176 grams of skunk, 65 grams of Loud and five grams of methamphetamine.

“At Uyosa, Benin City, two female suspects, Chioma Igba (24) and Precious Ozomah (22), were nabbed with a cocktail of illicit substances including 176 grams of skunk, 65 grams of Loud, and 5 grams of Methamphetamine,” the statement said.

The agency also arrested 21-year-old Anita Abraham along Agbor Road, Benin City, after she was allegedly found in possession of 95 grams of Scottish Loud and 329 grams of regular Loud.

In another operation at Upper Mission, Benin City, a 43-year-old suspect, Henry Okey, was apprehended with a cache of psychotropic substances, including Loud, Colorado, Swinol and methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives in Kano State arrested a 19-year-old suspect, Saifullahi Lawan, during a raid in the Kafi area of Madobi on June 4.

The agency said the suspect was caught with 40 blocks of skunk weighing 38 kilograms.
