Five members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) who were kidnapped during a terrorist attack on a church in Omugo, Oro Ago District of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, have reportedly lost their lives while being held by their captors.

Among those said to have died is the wife of the church's presiding minister, Pastor Omole. Information about the deaths reportedly emerged through one of the abducted worshippers who escaped from captivity and recounted the incident.

Sources close to the matter disclosed that indications from the kidnappers’ hideout suggest that the five victims died after spending several weeks in captivity following their abduction.

While the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths have yet to be established, the report was said to have been conveyed by the escapee, who provided details of the situation after regaining freedom.

According to sources, relatives of the victims have already been informed of the development.

“The families have been notified about the unfortunate news,” one source said.

The source further confirmed that Pastor Omole’s wife was among those believed to have died while in the custody of the kidnappers.

“Pastor Omole’s wife is among the victims who reportedly did not survive the ordeal in captivity,” the source added.

The reported deaths have plunged the Omugo community and the ECWA congregation into grief, with residents and church members mourning the victims while awaiting official confirmation from security agencies.

The worshippers were abducted on March 22, 2026, when armed attackers invaded ECWA Church Omugo during a worship service in the Oro Ago District of Ifelodun Local Government Area and whisked away several congregants.
