Obidient Movement Rejects Faction, Reaffirms Commitment To Peter Obi

The Obidient Movement has officially dismissed the activities of a splinter group attempting to operate under its name, labeling the move a deliberate attempt to create leadership confusion. This reaction follows a recent announcement by a self-styled "Obedient Movement" faction that claimed to have expelled its original leaders, including former presidential candidate Peter Obi and National Coordinator Dr. Yunusa Tanko.

In a formal statement , Dr. Yunusa Tanko reaffirmed that the movement recognizes only its established leadership framework and remains fully aligned with Obi’s vision. He emphasized that no parallel structure or alternative faction exists, rejecting any attempts to hijack the movement's identity for separate political agendas.

The leadership further cautioned the public, media, and global supporters to stay vigilant against groups using deceptively similar names. They maintained that these unauthorized factions do not represent the Obidient Movement’s core values or its commitment to a "New Nigeria," urging all stakeholders to disregard speculative reports that suggest internal divisions.

The Obidient Movement stated that it remains a people-driven movement founded on intes accountability, justice, and the collective aspiration for a New Nigeria.

“Attemp create confusion, misrepresent the movement’s identity, or exploit its growing influence for ulterior interests will not distract us from our mission and ongoin engagement with Nigerians across all levels.

“We urge all Obidients and members of the public to remain focused, united, a guided only by communications issued through the officially recognized leade and communication channels of the movement.

“The vision of a New Nigeria remains alive, clear, and unwavering,” the Obidient Movement said.
