2027: Ogalagu Breaks Silence, Pitches Tent with APGA for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency Contest.
Tochukwu Ogalagu has finally chosen the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as his political party platform to contest the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu federal constituency seat in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Ogalagu made his decision known to his teeming supporters during an interface at his base, Amike-Izhia in Ohaukwu local government area on Monday.
He reinstated his readiness to challenge the incumbent in his new platform, the APGA, stating that his decision to join the party was the product of his wide consultations with stakeholders after he left the All Progressives Congress (APC) a month ago.
Ogalagu further stated that his choice of APGA was guided by the party's stability and crisi-free record which he has found conducive towards achieving his ambition, stressing that he has rejected all crisis-ridden political parties.
The aspirant, however, asked his numerous supporters to also adopt Governor Francis Nwifuru and President Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the APC as their governorship and Presidential candidates respectively, noting that APGA has not yet fielded any candidate for the two positions.
Some constituents who spoke to journalists: Dr. Emmanuel Nwulegu and Maryjane Onwe from Ebonyi LGA; Christopher Kelechukwu and Chikezie Michael Onwe from Ohaukwu LGA among others, reinstated their total support for Ogalagu in his new political party.
They enumerated the many reasons why Ogalagu is their preferred candidate to include his love for the people and his inclusive leadership attributes which has found expression in numerous women and youth empowerment programmes, educational scholarship programmes, indigent care and youth employment programmes.
The constituents expressed their confidence in the ability of Ogalagu to redeem the federal constituency from what they described as "dormant representation" stressing that the enviable records he has built without any political office is an assurance that he would do more with their support.
Recall that the aspirant and chairman of Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation, a renowned humanitarian organisation in Ebonyi state announced his exit from the All Progressives Congress last month in search of other viable platform for his ambition.
