Kebbi State Assembly’s Speaker, Muhammad Ankwai Dies In Egypt After Brief Illness

The speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Ankwai, has passed away in Egypt after a brief illness.

His passing was announced by NTA News Network via a terse statement posted on Tuesday.

The lawmaker reportedly died on Monday while receiving medical treatment in Cairo.

Ankwai, who represented Zuru Constituency, was elected Speaker of the 10th Kebbi State Assembly on June 8, 2023.

His death has thrown Kebbi’s political circle into mourning, with tributes already pouring in for the late lawmaker regarded as a calm and dedicated leader.

Details about his burial rites are expected to be announced later.
