President Bola Tinubu has felicitated Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, urging them to uphold the values of piety, compassion and unity beyond the Ramadan period.

In a statement released on Thursday by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president called on Nigerian Muslims to renew their commitment to the nation and humanity as they celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Tinubu enjoined the Muslim faithful to rededicate themselves to the noble teachings of Ramadan, which emphasise piety, empathy and unity among humanity.

“We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period,” he said.

The President also urged Muslims to extend acts of kindness to the less privileged, regardless of religious background, as a demonstration of unity and camaraderie.

He further called on Muslim leaders to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace and prosperity in the country.
