RILEY PACKAGING TAKES GOLD AT PRESIDENT’S AWARD
The Mara Group's packaging company, Riley Packaging scoops a gold award at the President's Export Award (PEA) held on Friday, 1 October at the Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala.
The President of the Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted the 12th Annual award ceremony honoring the best exporters of 2009. The annual event recognizes the contribution of the export fraternity to the economic development of Uganda. The Uganda Export Promotion Board organized the award under the theme Regional Integration, Bigger is Better for Trade. This is in line with the common market that came into effect on 1st July 2010 with an objective of widening and deepening cooperation among partner states in both economic and social fields.
77 trophies were awarded to companies belonging to 30 sectors and Paper Packaging is the sector where Riley Packaging won the award. “We are pleased to be the only company in Uganda who was selected for this sector and won the Gold Award,” said Riley Packaging CEO, Vipul Desai.
“It is truly an honour to receive this award as we strive to align our company, our staff and our impact with the strategic focus of the country. We dedicate this award to our employees, who consistently deliver exceptional quality,” said Ashish Thakkar, MD of the Mara Group.
